Within a 45 minute drive of Corona, residents and business leaders have access to a large array of private and public colleges & universities. Altogether, there are more than 35 campuses with a combined 2008 enrollment of more than 200,000 students. The list includes nationally known private, liberal arts schools like the Claremont Colleges and the University of Redlands. Impressive scientific work is being conducted at Harvey Mudd College, California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, the Keck Graduate School of Applied Life Science and the University of California, Riverside. Loma Linda University boasts one of the top medical schools in the world. California State University, San Bernardino has an excellent School of Business. And, there are five nearby community colleges including Riverside Community College, Norco.
A leading national research institution, the University of California-Riverside, is located minutes from downtown Corona. Annual enrollment hit 17,187 students in 2009 and projections of 25,000 by 2015 highlights the regions fast paced growth. UC Riverside offers 80 bachelor, 46 master's, 38 Ph.D and 17 California teaching and administrative credential programs from five colleges.
Corona-Norco Unified School District
The Corona-Norco Unified School District has 32 primary schools, 7 intermediate schools and 8 high schools. Currently CNUSD has 52,268 students of which 26,851 are in primary school and 25,287 in intermediate and secondary schools. CNUSD spends $7,597 on each student, totaling $396 million annually to provide a 22:1 student-teacher ratio. High school graduates average 20.37 on the ACT and 1442 on the SAT exams.
