About Us

Economic Development is responsible for the business attraction, expansion, and retention efforts for the City of Corona. The pro-business attitude of the Economic Development Program reflects in the Team Corona concept. City officials actively work to make the transition of a business a smooth one by exploring incentives, site selection, and other avenues of support. When appropriate, the Team expands to include outside agencies such as the California Trade and Commerce Agency, Riverside County Economic Development Agency, Inland Empire Economic Partnership, Southern California Edison, the Gas Company, and the Workforce Development Board.

Corona's Economic Development Team's Objectives:

• Seek and attract quality businesses to locate and expand their sales, facilities, and employment.
• Conduct business communications, outreach, and retention activities.
• Work with the Redevelop Agency to revitalize blighted commercial sites.
• Guide establishment of a diversified local business base to provide growing sales and property tax revenues to the City to support municipal operations.

Use of Team Corona, with the Economic Development Division participating as "first contact" for the developer/business owner, brings new businesses to Corona every year and retains the companies that are already here.
